Just pulled these Amish Cinnamon Rolls out of the oven! πŸŒ€ Soft, fluffy, and dripping with sweet icing!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Dough:
    • 1 cup warm milk
    • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/3 cup butter, melted
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 large eggs
    • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • For the Filling:
    • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
    • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
    • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • For the Icing:
    • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • 1/4 cup butter, softened
    • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 23 tablespoons milk (adjust for consistency)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large bowl, mix the sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and yeast mixture. Gradually add the flour, 1 cup at a time, until the dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Roll the dough out on a floured surface into a 16×21-inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the dough.
  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle it evenly over the buttered dough.
  • Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 even rolls. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing by mixing the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  • Spread the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls. Serve and enjoy!
