Ingredients
For the Chicken Korma:
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (14 oz) coconut milk
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup almond butter or ground almonds
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ cup chicken broth
For Garnish:
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Sliced almonds (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients:
Chop the chicken, onion, garlic, and ginger.Layer in the Slow Cooker:
Add the chicken, onion, garlic, and ginger to the slow cooker.Add the Spices & Sauce:
In a bowl, mix together garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, chili powder, salt, black pepper, coconut milk, yogurt, almond butter, tomato paste, honey, and chicken broth. Pour over the chicken.Slow Cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and the flavors meld together.Finish & Serve:
Stir well before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro and sliced almonds. Serve over rice or with warm naan.
