Description
Cruffins are a delightful fusion of croissants and muffins, creating a beautifully flaky pastry with a buttery, golden exterior. These easy-to-make cruffins are made with pre-made puff pastry, rolled and baked in muffin tins, perfect for a quick breakfast or a special treat!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface to smooth them. Brush each sheet with melted butter.
- Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon (if using) evenly over the buttered pastry.
- Roll each puff pastry sheet tightly into a log and slice the log into 6 equal pieces (12 pieces in total).
- Take each piece and place it into the muffin tin, swirl-side up. Gently press them into the molds.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cruffins are golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can fill the cruffins with your favorite filling like Nutella, jam, or pastry cream before baking for extra flavor.
- Use store-bought puff pastry to make the process faster and easier, but you can also make homemade pastry for an authentic croissant texture.
- These cruffins are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days.
