These Slow-Cooked Juicy American Cheeseburgers are the ultimate comfort food—no grill required. Made with seasoned 80/20 ground beef, topped with melty American cheese, and slow-cooked over sweet onions, each bite is packed with tender, juicy flavor. It’s your favorite diner burger, made right in your slow cooker.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
4 slices American cheese
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ cup beef broth (optional)
4 burger buns
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard, ketchup, mayo
Instructions
Form Patties: Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Shape into 4 equal patties and press a slight indent in the center of each.
Sear: Sear patties in a hot skillet for 1–2 minutes per side to lock in juices.
Layer: Place sliced onions in the bottom of your slow cooker. Add patties on top. Pour in beef broth.
Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–2½ hours.
Melt Cheese: 10 minutes before serving, place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover until melted.
Toast & Serve: Lightly toast buns and assemble with desired toppings.
